The R.D. and Joan Dale Hubbard Foundation, in Ruidoso, New Mexico, is proud to announce the award of the three Hubbard Foundation’s “Lincoln County Scholarship Awards” to the following outstanding Lincoln County High School Seniors:
Gage Barnett of Ruidoso High School
Alexandra Doth of Ruidoso High School
Matthew Joe Ferguson of Carrizozo High School.
Gage Barnett is the son of Tay and Kathy Barnett of Ruidoso.
Gage is the 2011 Valedictorian of the graduating class of Ruidoso High. Mr. Barnett will be attending Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Alexandra Doth is the daughter of Mark and Laura Doth of Ruidoso. Lexi was rated third in her class at Ruidoso High. Miss Doth will be attending Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Matthew Joel Ferguson is the son of Matt and Bella Ferguson of Carrizozo, New Mexico. Joel is the 2011 Valedictorian of the graduating class of Carrizozo High. Mr. Ferguson will be attending New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Since 1990, when the Hubbard Foundation established the scholarship awards program in Lincoln County, 4 Carrizozo, 1 Corona, 11 Capitan and 42 Ruidoso High School graduates, have received this prestigious award for a total of 58 Lincoln County students, with assistance over $400,000 from The R.D. & Joan Dale Hubbard Foundation.
Each of these scholarships will generate $16,000 over a four-year period toward the Scholarship Award recipient’s education expense. Graduates of all five county high schools are eligible to apply each year. Eligibility requirements call for individuals to have maintained a minimum first seven-semester high school GPA of 3.5 or better. This year, thirty one students applied for the three scholarship awards.
