The Sierra Blanca Steppers will be competing in next weeks Juneteenth Step Off in San Antonio, Texas. Teams competing will be coming from different parts of the southern states including the Sierra Blanca Steppers, which will be representing New Mexico. This event is an invitation only event, in which the Sierra Blanca Steppers received their invitation in March of 2011; after taking second place in a Dallas High School competition. They will be competing in the male category with 4 boys and 2 girls. Spencer Sedillo, DeAundre Mason, Omar Garcia, Jason Nevarez, Jazz Taylor, and Rinku Bhakta on June 18, 2011.

This is a huge annual event in high school stepping. The show will be aired on one of the top hip hop television stations- BET on June 18th. Come out and show your support to your community Sierra Blanca Steppers. They will be performing their competition routine at the Horton Complex gym (Old Middle School, Top Gym) on Wednesday, June 15, at 6 pm to 7 pm.
